Welcome to our Student Council Blog!
My name is Mrs. Heverly (the Art Teacher) and I am in charge of our Student Council this year! I will post Student Council updates and meeting agenda to our blog for kiddos who possibly miss a meeting or lose their agenda sheet! Also, I believe that this would be a good way to let everyone else know a little bit about Student Council and what we do!
*Homecoming Parade*

*Student Council Elections*
Third and Fourth grade Student Council members are able to run for a Student Council Office.

This year, with the help of our Technology Specialist, Kristen Fudale, we decided to have the Student Council members create a video including their name, their room # and the office that they are running for. The members running for President were asked to include a short speech including their positive character traits to help explain why they would make a good President and why their classmates should vote for them. We did have a few members that chose not to run for office, but we were able to include them in the video as well! By using an iPad, we were able to record each member and combine the videos. These will be sent to all of the 3rd and 4th grade teachers to show at their convenience Thursday. This allows educational time to go un-interrupted and it prevents kiddos from making their speech 7 times. In addition, I believe that the video is comparable to a commercial that we would see around election time, which makes this process relative to real life elections. Friday morning from 8:45-9:00am, third and fourth grade students will vote and I will post the winners of the election on here Friday Night. Winners will be announced at school Monday morning!
